Huang Xiaoming the highest paid star of the year
     2012-December-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    黄晓明成为年度最吸金中国艺人

With a total income of 392 million yuan (US$62.8 million), Huang Xiaoming tops the list of China’s highest paid stars in 2012.

Huang’s income has been generated from studios, advertisements, real estate, stocks and his medical and wine business. Huang opened his own movie studio in 2011 and “An Inaccurate Memoir,” the first movie produced by his studio, premiered in April.

In addition to running his studio, Huang has invested in various businesses, such as health and wine. He also holds some stocks in the Huayi Brothers Media Co.

The second highest paid star on the list is Taiwanese actor Nicky Wu. Wu also owns a studio and has invested in two TV dramas. “The Bride with White Hair,” a 42-episode drama, has reportedly been sold for 84 million yuan, which means every episode is worth up to 2 million yuan. It’s estimated that the other drama, “To Advance toward the Fire,” will earn him at least 80 million yuan. With revenue from advertisements and other movies and dramas, Wu’s income in the past year is expected to exceed 200 million yuan.

Three female actors followed Wu on the list. Fan Bingbing, Ruby Lin and Li Bingbing earned about 200 million yuan, 180 million yuan and 90 million yuan respectively.(Zhang Yang)
