电影霍比特人连续两周席卷北美票房
“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” has topped the U.S. box office chart for a second week.
Its revenue had reached US$36.7 million over the weekend.
It easily beat Tom Cruise’s latest action movie, “Jack Reacher,” which came second with US$15.6 million.
But a drop-off in the takings of “The Hobbit,” down from US$84.8 million last week, suggests it will struggle to match the success of the final “Lord of the Rings” film.
Box office analysts said the 57- percent decline in the second-week takings was due to the Christmas shopping rush.
Tom Cruise’s film also opened with lower-than-expected takings, making approximately half as much money as “Mission Impossible 4,” which was released this time last year. (SD-Agencies)
