恐怖片《妈妈》

The film begins with a string of* events that leave two young girls orphaned* and living alone in a cabin* in the woods, where they’re protected and fed by a terrifying spirit* they simply call “Mama.”
Five years later, a search party sent by their artist uncle (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) finds the girls, now skinny, dirty, and feral*. Coster-Waldau begins to rehabilitate* them, with the help of his girlfriend (Jessica Chastain), but Mama follows them to their new home, and quickly becomes jealous*, evil, and more dangerous.
The film spends some time finding out what Mama is, but mostly, it makes people feel the horror through images of the girls playing with something not completely unseen, or through the creature’s stuttering* movement as it follows Coster-Waldau, Chastain, and other adults.
Chastain’s blunt* rock musician isn’t the usual protective-mom type: She doesn’t want children, she deals with her new charges with understandable discomfort. And while the older girl (Megan Charpentier) learns to find Mama frightening*, her more animal-like younger sister (Isabelle Nélisse), who never knew another mother, still loves the monster*. These conflicts contribute to* the film’s tense, complicated* family dynamic, building a rich emotional chaos* that makes the horror much more meaningful. (SD-Agencies)
