HONG KONG actor Ekin Cheng, 46, has finally married actress and longtime girlfriend, Yoyo Mung, 40.

    The two reportedly wed in a top-secret ceremony held at Aimee Vibert, a restaurant with two Michelin stars, in Tokyo on Monday. Hong Kong media said the two only invited about 40 family members and friends. The couple were in tears as they recited their vows.

    Announcing the news on his Sina Weibo microblog Tuesday, Cheng wrote: “We have entered a new phase of life, we are grateful. From now on we will no longer be lonely, thank you!” The post was accompanied by a photo of two teddy bears with their initials, “E” and “Y” embroidered on them.

    The couple have been together for seven years.

    The marriage was a hot topic on Sina Weibo this week because Cheng’s previous high-profile relationships with actress Maggie Shiu and singer-actress Gigi Leung also lasted seven years, but it looks like Mung has managed to “seal the deal” to officially become Mrs. Cheng.

    Shiu and Leung both extended their congratulations and well wishes to the couple on Sina Weibo upon hearing the news.

    Cheng dated Shiu from 1992 to 1999 and once publicly announced he would take care of Shiu forever. In October 1999, Leung was reported to have appeared in Cheng’s house. The exposure of their relationship had been a hot issue in show biz circles, since Cheng was rumored to be still going out with Shiu. In January 2006, Leung and Cheng broke up and Cheng began dating Mung.

    Leung, 37, married her Spanish boyfriend Sergio in 2011. Shiu, 48, is still single.(SD News)
