sīmìdá

Meaning:

“思密达” is a transliteration of a Korean suffix added at the end of a sentence showing respect for the person spoken to. However, Chinese netizens use it differently to mean “neither” in a playful manner. For instance, “我敬仰你” is translated as “I admire you.” But “我敬仰你思密达” means “I don’t admire you” or “I despise you.”

Example:

A: 对不起，这是单行道，你逆行了。

Duìbuqǐ, zhèshì dānxíngdào, nǐ nìxíng le。

Excuse me, this is a one-way lane. You are heading in the wrong direction.

B: 怎么就单行道了？谁规定的？

Zěnme jìu dānxíngdào le? Shuí guīdìng de?

When did it become a one-way lane? Who said this?

A: 前面就是车库入口，出口从地下一层进去一直向前。

Qiánmiàn jìushì chēkù rùkǒu, chūkǒu cóng dìxià yīcéng jìnqù yīzhí xiàngqián。

The entrance of the car park is right ahead. Drive straight forward in the underground park and you will come to the exit.

B: 我看见的士就这么走的。

Wǒ kànjiàn díshì jìushì zhème zǒu de。

I’ve seen taxi drivers driving this way.

A: 原来你之前是的士司机啊，我敬仰你思密达。其实的士司机也有规规矩矩开车的。

Yuánlái nǐ zhīqián shì díshì sījī a, wǒ jìngyǎng nǐ sīmìdá。Qíshí díshì sījī yěyǒu guīguī-jǔjǔ kāichē de。

So you were a taxi driver. I despise you. In fact, there are taxi drivers who follow the rules.
