Justin Bieber releases album
Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber released his new acoustic album on January 29. The album features three new tracks including a heartbreak ballad thought to be about his former girlfriend Selena Gomez.
Different from his album “Believe” which was released last June, Bieber sings with only a guitar or piano-driven melody in “Believe Acoustic.”
The album went straight to the top of the iTunes U.S. album charts on January 29, and won generally warm reviews.
Ekin Cheng weds Yoyo Mung
Hong Kong actor Ekin Cheng, 46, has finally married actress and longtime girlfriend, Yoyo Mung, 40.
The two reportedly wed in a top-secret ceremony held at Aimee Vibert, a restaurant with two Michelin stars, in Tokyo on January 28.
Announcing the news on his Sina Weibo on January 29, Cheng wrote: “We have entered a new phase of life, we are grateful. From now on we will no longer be lonely, thank you!”
‘Wreck-It Ralph’ wins Annie Awards
Disney’s “Wreck-It Ralph” topped the feature competition at the 40th annual Annie Awards, winning five trophies* including best animated feature and best directing for Rich Moore.
On Saturday at UCLA’s Royce Hall, the International Animated Film Society also spread around its awards, presenting two trophies each to Disney/Pixar’s “Brave,” LAIKA/Focus Features’ “ParaNorman,” and DreamWorks Animation’s “Rise of the Guardians.”
“Wreck-It Ralph” also won trophies for writing, music and voice acting for Alan Tudyk as King Candy.
Beyonce admits lip-synch
Beyonce answered critics of her Inauguration Day performance the best way she could.
She admitted during her Super Bowl news conference that when she performed for President Barack Obama and the nation, she decided to sing to a prerecorded* track because she didn’t have time to practice.
Her rendition* of the anthem* was critically praised, but a representative from the U.S. Marine Band said on the following day that Beyonce was lip-synching and the band’s accompanying performance was taped. (SD-Agencies)
