‘Endless Love’ tops love songs

    The 1981 Motown ballad “Endless Love” by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie topped Billboard magazine’s “Top 50 ‘Love’ Songs of All Time” list on January 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

    The duet*, written by Richie and used as the theme song for Franco Zeffirelli’s film of the same name, earned Richie an Academy Award nomination for best original song.

    Boyz II Men’s 1994 hit “I’ll Make Love to You,” “We Found Love” by Rihanna and Calvin Harris, “How Deep Is Your Love” from the Bee Gees and “Silly Love Songs” by Wings round out the top five.

    Pitt, Jolie join winemaking

    Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have gone into the wine business, helping to produce a rose* called Miraval from their French estate and putting their names on the label.

    The movie star couple have been working with French winemaker Marc Perrin starting with the 2012 harvest. The Miraval wine will be on the market in March, and white wines will begin arriving by the end of this summer.

    Grant welcomes second child

    Hugh Grant announced on Saturday that he had become a father for the second time after his Chinese girlfriend Tinglan Hong gave birth to a baby boy.

    Grant, 52, who is best known for such films as “Notting Hill” and “About a Boy,” did not reveal the child’s name.

    The actor and Hong had their first child in 2011, when his spokeswoman said in a statement that the baby girl was the result of a “fleeting affair” but Grant “could not be happier or more supportive.”

    ‘Child’s Pose’ wins Golden Bear

    The Romanian tragicomedy “Child’s Pose” from director Calin Peter Netzer won the Berlin Golden Bear, the best film prize, at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival on Saturday.

    “Child’s Pose” won critical praise following its world premiere in Berlin, particularly for veteran Romanian actress Luminita Gheorghiu, who gives an astounding performance as a domineering* mother from Romania’s elite who sees a chance to regain control over her adult son when he faces manslaughter* charges for reckless driving.(SD-Agencies)
