Sunday’s Oscar ceremony scored the biggest TV audience in three years.
Nielsen ratings* data on Monday showed that 40.3 million Americans watched the Academy Awards ceremony on ABC television, up 3 percent from 2012.
The Nielsen Company said it was the most-watched Oscars telecast in three years. Last year when “The Artist” won best picture, the show had an audience of 39.3 million people. After bringing in “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane as host this year, ABC saw an 11-percent ratings boost over 2012 among viewers aged 18 to 49 years old.(SD-Agencies)
