    Bieber apologizes for late show

Canadian singer Justin Bieber apologized on March 5 after fans booed* him for turning up nearly two hours late to a London concert.

The 19-year-old teen idol had been scheduled to take the stage at London’s O2 Arena at 8:30 p.m. but said in a Twitter message that the time was pushed back to 9:35 p.m. due to “some technical issues.” Bieber was nearly two hours late when he finally appeared at around 10:20 p.m.

Mendes: ‘No’ to next Bond film

British director Sam Mendes will not direct the next James Bond movie, despite impressing critics and breaking box-office records with “Skyfall,” the 23rd movie in the spy series.

Speaking to Empire magazine in an interview, the Oscar-winning filmmaker said he would be focusing on his theater projects for the foreseeable* future.

The success of “Skyfall” had led to media speculation* that Mendes would return for Bond 24.

    Few showing Lei Feng films

Three Chinese movies based on the life of 1960s soldier and national icon* Lei Feng were released on March 5, but few cinemas are showing the movies because of audiences’ lack of interest in the subject, according to media reports.

Domestic media reports said nearly no one went to cinemas to watch the Lei Feng movies on that day, even though 2013 is 50 years after Mao’s commemoration* of “Lei Feng spirit.”

    Neighbors accuse James Franco

A couple living next door to James Franco’s Silver Lake home is complaining the “Oz the Great and Powerful” star is causing a ruckus* by running a production company out of his house.

A couple claiming to be Franco’s next door neighbors said they were initially excited when Franco purchased the home in August 2012.

But their feelings have soured, with the neighbors saying Franco doesn’t appear to actually be living in the home. Instead, it seems he is running a “major production company” out of the residence, with numerous people and vehicles coming and going, sometimes blocking the couple’s driveway.
