‘Mystery’ named best film at Asian Film Awards

    The 7th annual Asian Film Awards was held in Hong Kong on Monday.

    A total of 18 awards were handed out, including four special awards.

    Chinese director Lou Ye’s “Mystery” took the best film award.

    “Mystery” tells the story of a middle-aged woman who plans to take revenge on her husband after discovering his infidelity*.

    Qi Xi was named best newcomer for her performance in the film.

    “Mystery” also won the best screenwriter award.

    Eddie Garcia won the best actor award for his role in the film “Bwakaw.”

    The best actress award was handed to Filipino actress Nora Aunor for the film “Thy Womb.”

    Chinese comedy “Lost in Thailand” took the award for top-grossing Asian film.
