lead Critics Choice TV winners
CBS sitcom* “The Big Bang Theory” led comedy winners at the Critics Choice Television Awards on June 10, while AMC series “Breaking Bad” and HBO’s fantasy epic “Game of Thrones” won top prizes for drama, edging out* “Mad Men” and “Homeland.”
HBO film “Behind the Candelabra” won best mini-series or movie, and Michael Douglas’ turn as the camp and complex Liberace won the best actor in a mini-series or movie prize.
Naomi Watts to star in ‘Diana’
The trailer* for the upcoming feature film about Diana Princess of Wales has been unveiled, and Naomi Watts already has proved to be a stunning choice.
Watts, 44, plays Lady Di in 1995, three years after her divorce from Prince Charles. Having become a prominent figure in charity work and the fight to ban landmines worldwide, she gets romantically involved with Pakistani heart surgeon Hasnat Khan (played by Naveen Andrews) and Dodi Fayed (portrayed by Cas Anvar) while contending with daily harassment by the ruthless paparazzi*.
The film is due for release on September 5.
Aimee and Moses Chan married
Hong Kong TVB actress Aimee Chan announced her marriage to her actor boyfriend, Moses Chan, on June 12 on Sina Weibo.
The Canadian-born actress, 32, said on her microblog: “We’re married. The next chapter of our life begins today. Thank you!” She also uploaded a photo of their wedding, with both stars wearing their wedding attire and Moses kissing his wife’s fingertips.
Bob Dylan planning 33-date tour
Singer Bob Dylan will embark on a 33-date tour of Europe starting in Oslo on October 10 and ending at London’s Royal Albert Hall on November 28, a statement on his website said on June 14.
The “Blowin in the Wind” singer — who is scheduled to finish his “AmericanaramA” tour in Mountain View, California on August 4 — said tickets for “Bob Dylan in Europe” would go on sale on June 14.(SD-Agencies)
