Former Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham showed up at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology on Monday, to share her experiences in fashion design with young students in the industry.
Vogue China’s editorial director Angelica Cheung hosted the seminar. She started the event by asking Beckham whether she would feel confident as a designer without professional training.
“I wear a lot, and I design what I wear. I am very focused and passionate, and I work really hard,” Beckham said.
This was Beckham’s second visit to Beijing. She is collaborating with some local brands, meeting clients and finding new opportunities in the city.
Although the fashion world looks glamorous, Beckham said there are also huge challenges and difficulties.
“I am not working for a brand called Victoria Beckham. I own the brand. It is my business, and I need to consider every part of the business,” she said.
The designer said Beijing is definitely a destination for her, and she hopes to open boutiques* there as soon as possible.(SD-Agencies)
