Name badges

    ALL Shenzhen traffic auxiliaries are now required to wear badges that show their name and work unit while on duty, in a new rule that took effect this month.

    The rule is intended to regulate the management of traffic auxiliaries and enhance public supervision of their conduct. Residents can ask for help from traffic auxiliaries and traffic police officers and can call 110 or 8446-9054 if they encounter any irregularities by the auxiliaries, whose duty is to help traffic police officers with vehicle guidance, traffic order, accident scenes and victim rescues in accidents.

    Hospital expansion

    LIXIANG Middle School in Nanshan District will be relocated to allow the expansion of Nanshan District People’s Hospital, Nanshan District officials announced recently.

    The hospital is planning to invest 1.3 billion yuan (US$210.5 million) to build an outpatient building, a surgery building and an administrative building, with the new floor space totaling 178,000 square meters. The number of beds at the hospital will increase from 900 to 2,000 when the projects are completed.

    Flight to Lijiang

    CHINA Southern Airlines will add a new flight to Lijiang in Yunnan Province that will operate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting July 1 to meet the demand for travel to the well-known tourism destination.

    Flight CZ3673 will depart from Shenzhen at 7:45 a.m. and arrive in Lijiang at 11:20 a.m., after a 45-minute stop in Guiyang in Guizhou Province. Return flight CZ3674 will depart from Lijiang at 12:10 p.m. and arrive in Shenzhen at 3:50 p.m., the airline’s Shenzhen office said.
