Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger allegedly married
     2013-July-1  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CANADIAN rockers Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have tied the knot, several media outlets reported yesterday.

The couple wed Saturday at a ceremony in Cannes, France, The Hollywood Reporter said on its website. The ceremony has been described as “intimate.” Lavigne wore a custom-made wedding dress by Australian designer Johanna Johnson, and the couple had their first dance to a song they wrote together, which they now plan on releasing as a single, according to Us Weekly.

The Nickelback frontman proposed to Lavigne with a 14-carat diamond ring last August after a six-month courtship. The couple became close while working together on her upcoming fifth studio album.

“I knew I was falling for her,” Kroeger said shortly after their engagement was announced. “It was incredibly powerful and something I’ll never forget.”

It is the first marriage for Kroeger, 38, and the second for Lavigne, 28, who was married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley from 2006-2009.

Ahead of the nuptials, Lavigne said Kroeger was letting her do most of the wedding planning.

“Chad is on board with all my ideas,” she told People in June. “He knows that I have my own vision for the wedding and he likes what I like. He’s down with whatever I’m down with. We have a lot in common, so it’s been easier.”

However, People magazine ran a brief report yesterday saying that Avril and Chad did not get married — not “yet” anyway — despite Mike Heller’s tweets about attending her wedding.

Heller, the CEO of the talent company that represents Lavigne, posted Saturday morning: “I’m in south of France about to see my little Rok star #avril get married I am so happy to be part of this special celebration.” (SD-Agencies)
