Former Miss Chinatown runner-up and actress Cherie Ying announced the birth of her baby boy on Monday.

    Jasper, son of Ying and Jordan Chan, 45, was born in Hong Kong. Ying soon wrote the news on her microblog, saying motherhood was “like a dream and felt so unreal.” She also posted photos of her and her husband online with a note that said: “Jasper, we love u so so much.”

    Once he heard the news, Chan halted the recording of his album in Tianjin and rushed to the maternity ward in Hong Kong. He later expressed his excitement and said the baby was very adorable. The couple also expressed their hope to raise Jasper away from the limelight, asking their fans to understand.

    Ying and Chan, a famed Hong Kong singer and actor, got married in Las Vegas three years ago. Rumors about the couple having a baby had been persistent since then. (Tan Yifan)
