One Direction among big winners at Teen Choice
     2013-August-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

One Direction, “Glee” and “Twilight” were among the biggest winners at the Teen Choice Awards 2013.

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2” picked up the most wins of the evening with seven trophies, including acting nods for Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz and two for Kristen Stewart.

“The Perks of Being a Wallflower” dominated the drama movie fields, including an award for Emma Watson, as “Pitch Perfect” swept the comedy movie categories, with recognition for Rebel Wilson.

One Direction won three awards in the music categories, while Harry Styles also walked away with “Choice Smile” and “Choice Male Hottie.”

Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis took home some of the other music trophies, with Ed Sheeran being crowned “Choice Music Breakout Artist.”

“Glee,” “The Vampire Diaries” and “Pretty Little Liars” topped the TV categories, as Lea Michele gave an emotional acceptance speech remembering her late co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith.

The “X Factor USA” beat out strong competition in all the reality TV nominations, with Simon Cowell and Lovato given the “Choice TV Personality” awards.

Elsewhere, Miley Cyrus picked up “Choice Summer Song” for “We Can’t Stop” in addition to a TV prize for her guest role in “Two and a Half Men,” while David Beckham was named “Choice Male Athlete” and Ellen DeGeneres crowned “Choice Comedian.”

This year’s Teen Choice Awards took place at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles and were hosted by “Glee” star Kevin Hale and “Pretty Little Liars” Lucy Hale.
