Lady Gaga is releasing her new single “Applause” on Monday — one week earlier than originally planned — after declaring “a pop emergency” via Twitter.
The decision came in the wake of* her new single leaking on the Internet over the weekend.
“Applause,” the first song of Gaga’s upcoming album “ARTPOP,” was originally supposed to come out on August 18. The full album — along with an accompanying app — is set to be released on November 11.
Gaga alerted her fans to the leak and then changed the single’s release date via Twitter on Monday. She wrote on her tweet “A POP MUSIC EMERGENCY IS UNDERWAY 911.”(SD-Agencies)
