    Taiwan bus crash

    TWELVE Shenzhen travelers on a tour bus in Taiwan were slightly injured Tuesday when the bus rear-ended a truck on an expressway in Hsinchu.

    The truck and bus were trying to avoid an engineering vehicle that had overturned on the expressway when the accident happened, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported, quoting sources from Taiwan.

    The Shenzhen travelers were on the fourth day of a seven-day trip in Taiwan. Shenzhen’s tourism administration said earlier this week that it hadn’t yet received a report about the accident.

    Gold smugglers

    LUOHU Customs officers seized seven gold smugglers Saturday who had hidden chunks of gold in their shoes.

    Bus departures

    SHENZHEN’S transportation commission will shorten the departure intervals, especially during rush hours, on 10 bus routes that were recently rated the 10 worst in the city. Residents have particularly complained about lengthy wait times for buses on route 704, which runs between Nantou Checkpoint and the Taohuayuan housing estate in Xixiang, Bao’an District.

    3 men missing

    THE search continued yesterday for three men who reportedly were washed away by tides Tuesday while swimming at a beach in Guanhu, Dapeng New Area. The Guanhu beach is undeveloped and managed by the Guanhu community. Police said the three men were natives of Hunan Province.
