Veteran actress weds for fourth time
     2013-August-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FAMOUS Chinese actress Liu Xiaoqing is confirmed to have married her fourth husband.

The 58-year-old star got married to her husband last year, but they held their wedding recently in the United States, an announcement sent by Liu’s team said Tuesday. Liu posted the announcement on her microblog Tuesday.

Liu’s husband is said to be a successful Hong Kong businessman, known as William Wong. He has lived abroad for many years and is several years older than Liu.

Born in 1942 in Anhui Province, Wong is a member of the National Committee of the CPPCC and head of several Hong Kong companies.

Chinese media reported that Wong’s father was a graduate of Whampoa Military Academy, an elite Kuomintang army officer academy opened in China in the 1920s. Wong went to Hong Kong to do business in 1980, making his fortune by opening furniture factories.

The announcement said that Wong is very supportive of Liu’s entertainment career.

Born in 1955 in Chongqing, Liu is an award-winning actress in China. Her performance as the only female empress in China’s history in the TV drama, “Wu Zetian,” made her one of the most well-known and successful actresses in China. (Wang Yuanyuan)
