Power Station to rock Poly
     2013-August-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Taiwanese rock duo Power Station will hold a concert at the end of October at Shenzhen Poly Theater, as part of their “Don’t Forget the Origins, Moving On World Tour 2013.”

Power Station was formed by You Chiu-hsing and Yan Chi-lin. They stand out from the mainstream Chinese pop scene for their appearance, instead resembling Western heavy metal musicians. Their music is a mix of fast-paced rock ballads and electrifying rock anthems.

In 2001, Power Station released “Walking Along Jhonghsiao East Street Nine Times.” The album’s title track (Chinese version of “Takie Tango” by Budka Suflera) won the Silver Award for Best Mandarin Song at the 24th RTHK Top 10 Golden Song Awards.

Four years after their last album landed, the band released their new album “Light” in March this year. Recently, they made their debut foray into film, playing a pair of cold-blooded killers in “Piano Trojan.” They also sang its theme song “Keeping Company.”

In late November 2009 the duo started their “Moving On World Tour,” traveling around China and Malaysia. After clocking up more than 200 live shows, Power Station promises a live performance that will lead the audience down 15 years of memory lane, belting out all their classics such as “Relentless Love Letter,” “Tomorrow of Tomorrow of Tomorrow,” “Rainbow” and “Moving On.”
