    Zeta-Jones, Douglas separate

    HOLLYWOOD couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have separated in what could spell the end of their 13-year marriage, People magazine reported on August 21, and the representatives for the two stars confirmed the separation.

    According to People magazine, Douglas and Zeta-Jones, both Oscar winners and among Hollywood’s most high-profile* couples, have in recent months vacationed separately, appeared at red carpet events without the other and are ostensibly* living apart.

    

    Kate Bosworth marries

    Kate Bosworth said “I do” to director Michael Polish on Saturday during an outdoor ceremony at The Ranch at Rock Creek in Philipsburg, Montana.

    The “Superman Returns” star, 30, met and fell in love with Polish, 42, when he directed her in the drama “Big Sur” in 2011. The sparks flew and it was love at first sight.

    The intimate ceremony took place on a mountain top at The Ranch at Rock Creek after the gorgeous* bride arrived at the altar* via horse-drawn carriage. About 50-75 close friends and family members attended, according to Us Weekly’s sources.

    

    Grace Chan crowned

    Miss Hong Kong 2013

    Grace Chan, a 22-year-old college student, beat hundreds of hopefuls to win the Miss Hong Kong Pageant on Sunday. First runner-up in the competition was Sisley Choi, 22, and second runner-up was Moon Lau, 23.

    Chan, who says she enjoys singing, cooking, reading and playing the piano, hopes to become a television variety host and successful artist.

    

    Director Miyazaki retires

    JAPAN’S Hayao Miyazaki, a director of feature-length animations and manga* artist who has been compared to Walt Disney, is retiring after a five-decade career, the head of his production company said on Sunday.

    The 72-year-old Miyazaki has won hearts and accolades* around the world in a career that began in the 1960s, blazing a trail* for the genre of Japanese cartoons known as “anime.”

    His most famous works internationally have been “Princess Mononoke” and “Spirited Away,” which helped him make the transition from an already widely acclaimed career in Japan to a far broader audience.(SD-Agencies)
