Qianhai areas given names
     2013-October-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THREE areas in Qianhai have been officially named Guiwan, Qianwan and Mawan, according to Qianhai’s administration.

Qianhai is a 15-square-kilometer coastal strip adjacent to Nanshan District that Shenzhen and Hong Kong are developing into a modern service industry hub. Massive infrastructure construction is under way.

The city government has approved name-related planning in Qianhai that details names of areas, streets, natural geographic entities and flyovers in the zone.

Approved names include Yihai Boulevard, Menghai Boulevard, Tinghai Boulevard and Guiwan Street 1, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday.

Named parks include Shuangjie, Guiwan and Qianwan.

There are six flyovers in the area, including Binghai Yueliangwan Flyover, the paper said.

Qianhai Bay Station on the future Metro Line 11, which is under construction, could be the biggest Metro station in Asia when completed. The station will be 830 meters long and four times the size of a normal Metro station. Metro lines 1 and 5 will meet there.(Martin Li)
