AFTER several weeks of rumors about Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi’s new romance with singer Wang Feng, the Beijing rocker finally admitted to the relationship Saturday at a concert in Shanghai.

    Facing more than 80,000 audience members at Shanghai Stadium, Wang suddenly talked about the issue for eight minutes before singing “I Love You So Much.” Although Wang didn’t mention anyone’s name in his remark, audience members yelled “Zhang Ziyi” at the same time and Zhang was spotted sitting in the audience.

    “I imagine the world will not regard our previous lives as filthy ... I imagine our love can be blessed by the public ... I imagine I can hold your hand on streets like ordinary people ... I imagine someday in the morning our lives will not be the headlines of tabloids ... I will make you the happiest woman in the world!” said Wang at the concert.

    However, Wang’s confession didn’t get all blessings and congratulations from some Internet users, who said they didn’t trust Wang anymore because of his numerous affairs. Some said Wang had a similar confession to his ex-wife Kang Zuoru, and the song “I Love You So Much” he dedicated to Zhang at the Saturday concert was actually written by Wang for his former girlfriend Ge Huijie.

    Many Internet users noted that when Wang divorced Kang he left a long cheesy post on Sina Weibo. Now that he has made this new confession in a similar tone, many find it untrustworthy.

    Wang, 42, first married TV presenter Qi Dan in 2003 but divorced her one year later. Wang then had a four-year relationship with model Ge and had a daughter. His second marriage was with Kang and they also had a daughter. Wang is also reported to have many brief relationships with other women.

    Wang announced his divorce with Kang in September and 10 days later Kang reported on her Sina Weibo that Wang had many affairs with other women during their marriage and that he filed for divorce when their baby was only 8 months old.

    Wang was later spotted traveling with actress Zhang in the United States in October. The two also reportedly adjourned to a hotel together after a dinner date in Beijing in August.
