The 25 Journey
     2013-December-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    《我在25个城市, 遇见的25个人》

At 27, Spanish journalist Marc Serena has become a phenomenon* in Spain.

When he was 25 he decided to travel around the world with one goal. He wanted to know which things he had in common* with other young people from other countries, how they lived, and what troubled them.

He hoped to discover the present and the future of 25 countries through the eyes and perspectives* of young natives.

With this idea in mind he thought it would be interesting to meet people of his age, 25. He planned to travel around five continents, looking for 25 different stories of the people he met on his journey.

Based on those stories, he published his first book “La vuelta de los 25” (“The 25 Journey”) in January 2011. It was reprinted in June and later translated into other languages.

In the book the author takes the reader from India to Thailand, from New Zealand to Argentina. Each chapter begins with the name of the person, job, city, country and the date when Serena arrived. Among them were a poet, a boxer, a tour guide, an artist and an inventor. He arranged to meet some of them, and he met others by chance*.

During this adventure he recorded his experiences every day in his blog www.lavueltadelos25.com, which won the Travel World Awards in the non-English category in 2009.

As he stated in his blog: “Getting to know young people is the best way to imagine our future. With this particular field work, traveling to all these places, I have tried to represent a global generation, without any suppositions*.”

There are at least two Chinese versions available online.
