THE main structure of Hou-ting Station on the future Metro Line 11 was completed Thursday, becoming the first completed station in the third phase of the city’s Metro development plan.

The station on Bao’an Boulevard will be an important hub for the 51.7-km line, which will be the longest in Shenzhen when completed.

Metro Line 11 will have 17 stations and connect the CBDs of Futian District, Nanshan District and Qianhai with Shenzhen International Airport and the Fuyong, Shajing and Songgang areas. It will serve as a regional express line from Shenzhen’s west side to central areas, and as an airport express line.

Construction of the future Metro Line 11 began in April 2012. It’s expected to open in 2016.
