Meaning:
“学” means to “study,” and “神” means “god” or “goddess.” Another word created by Chinese netizens and widely used by students, “学神” refers to those who excel at academic performance without working very hard. In contrast, “学霸” (xuébà) refers to top students who work very hard, while “学渣” (xuézhā) refers to underachievers at school.
Example:
A: 听说你们宿舍有个学神辅导同学
功课?
Tīngshuō nǐmen sùshè yǒu gè xuéshén fǔdǎo tóngxué gōngkè?
I heard you have a roommate who is a super student and tutors his peers.
B: 是的。考试之前上过他的辅导课基本考试都能过关。
