POPULAR Chinese actor Huang Haibo will serve six months in a Beijing detention center after being caught having sex with a prostitute, police confirmed.

    Huang, 38, was detained 15 days after being caught May 15. The prostitute caught with Huang has been given the same verdict.

    According to Chinese law, those involved in prostitution will have to serve between six months and two years in a detention center. Those who repent deeply and behave well during their detention can be released earlier, but no shorter than half the term given in their verdict. In other words, Huang will not be free until September, which has cast a shadow on the TV show “Love Is Brave” in which Huang has a leading role. The show, which started shooting in February and also stars actress Zhang Jingchu, announced via its Weibo account that it has stopped shooting.
