TWO provincial-level officials from North China’s Shanxi Province are under investigation for suspected serious discipline and law violations, China’s anti-graft authority said Thursday.
The two officials are Ling Zhengce, vice chairman of Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Du Shanxue, vice governor and member of the Standing Committee of Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the CPC said on its website.
It gave no other details.
China’s campaign against deep-rooted official corruption has intensified since Xi Jinping took over as president, with several senior government figures and State company executives in detention.
Party graft investigators began a probe in Shanxi late last year, as part of a series of probes that have targeted officials in provinces and government ministries and departments.(SD-Xinhua)
