Fugitive kitty found alive after a month at airport
     2014-June-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN adorable cat who was lost at Canada’s Montreal airport a month ago has been found and taken to his worried owner.

Amanda Stewart, from Surrey, British Columbia, learned on May 21 that Chester, the feline she’d just bought from a Quebec breeder, had been misplaced after he escaped from a cat carrier at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport.

Stewart had paid US$1,200 for the cat, which was supposed to be shipped by Air Canada to Vancouver.

But the cat managed to get out of his cage in the cargo area and when the plane touched down, he wasn’t on it.

Stewart was concerned that a cat burglar or potentially even one of the falcons that frequent the airport could have pinched her pet, the Montreal Gazette reported.

So she set up a Facebook page appealing to the public for help in locating Chester.

Prompted by the attention, and the efforts of the Air Canada ground crew, volunteers searched West Island backyards and fields around the airport for the kitty.

On Wednesday morning, they were successful.
