CHINESE singer He Jie gave birth to a baby boy Saturday morning by Caesarean section. This is the first child for He and her husband He Ziming, who was very excited and announced the news on Sina Weibo.

    The new father also posted a photo of himself kissing the baby on Weibo. The boy weighs 3.15kg, and both mother and baby are safe and healthy.

    Also known as Angel He and born in Guizhou in 1986, the mandopop singer came to prominence after placing 4th in the 2005 “Super Girl” singing competition. He had a relationship with actor Shi Xiaolong before meeting her husband He Ziming, also an actor.

    The couple married last September.

    Fans of the singer are trying to convince her to name the baby “He Hehe” (meaning He and He, alluding to the couple’s surnames) and are already trying to find a girlfriend for the baby.

    Coincidentally, Hong Kong actor Daniel Chan’s wife also gave birth to a baby on Saturday. Chan’s baby is a little girl who weighs exactly the same as He’s son.

    Chan posted a photo of himself holding the baby’s foot in his hand on his Weibo account.

    Chan, born in 1975, married his Taiwanese girlfriend Wang Yuxian, 12 years his junior, in February.
