    Peel是“去皮”，keep one’s eyes peeled是什么意思呢？请看对话：

    B: John has asked me out to dinner and a movie, and he will be here in any minute. I’ll keep my eyes peeled and listen for the doorbell to ring.

    A: Take it easy, baby. Boys don’t mind waiting a little while at your door.

    Note: To keep one’s eyes peeled means to “be watchful and paying careful attention to something.” There are two versions of this phrase. One uses the word “peeled,” the other uses the word “skinned.” Both idioms seem to have made their appearance at least as early as the 19th century. To understand them, just think of a person peeling a banana or skinning an apple. The idioms both convey the idea of figuratively removing the skin of one’s eyes to pay better attention.
