13m comments set Guinness world record
     2014-August-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CHINESE pop star Lu Han has set a new social media record for most comments on a Weibo post, Guinness World Records confirmed Tuesday.

Lu, a member of the pop group EXO, has gained over 13,163,859 comments from his fans on a post about his favorite soccer team. The post says: “That’s Why I Love Manchester United!”

Lu is a member of a popular South Korean-Chinese boy band, EXO.

Originally published Sept. 10, 2012, the post had achieved 13,163,859 comments as of Aug. 5, almost double that of the second most commented post on the Chinese social network, Guinness World Records official website announced.

The record marks the first world record verified by Guinness World Records since it began accepting claims from the leading Chinese language social media and communications platforms.

China already holds the Guinness World Records title for “Most Internet users (country)” and, by the end of 2013, China had 618 million netizens, representing 45.8 percent of China’s total population.
