Chinese actress, Korean director tie the knot
     2014-August-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE wedding photos of Chinese actress Tang Wei and South Korean director Kim Tae-yong have been revealed Tuesday.

Tang’s management agency announced Tuesday on Weibo that they officially became husband and wife recently, and will join hands to begin a new phase in their lives.

The couple tied the knot in an official wedding ceremony in Hong Kong, Kim’s management agency said. The ceremony was done in a closed-door manner with only their immediate family members attending, the Bom Film Productions Co. said, without giving the date.

Last month, the couple had an unofficial wedding at the front yard of the house, where the late master filmmaker Ingmar Bergman, one of the greatest artists in cinema history, was born on the small Swedish island of Faro.

“We’re ready to start a new life together with love and respect, holding each other’s hand, although we have fears at the same time,” the couple said in a message released through the agency. “We thank all those who love us and wish them a life full of love and happiness.”

The agency previously said Tang, 35, who gained worldwide fame for her appearance in Ang Lee’s “Lust, Caution” in 2007, met the 45-year-old director in late 2009 while filming the South Korean movie “Late Autumn” together. They later developed their friendship into a romance after Tang visited South Korea in October 2013 to shoot a commercial, according to the company.

They had long denied media reports about their romance before making a surprise announcement July 2 that they have decided to tie the knot. (SD-Agencies)
