Atkinson brings Mr. Bean back in ad
     2014-August-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ROWAN ATKINSON has brought his beloved character back to life in a TV commercial in Shanghai.

In a series of pictures, the funnyman can be seen sporting his alter-ego’s omnipresent tweed jacket, red tie and white shirt combo as he gurned his way through a skit.

Although it isn’t known what product the commercial is promoting, the character was seen holding a camera and a postcard as he arrived outside Shanghai’s Mercedes-Benz Arena. And obviously, being Mr. Bean, trouble wasn’t far away.

The commercial then featured the Mini Cooper-driving fool involved in a stand-off with a Chinese man in a traditional suit, silly wig and fake moustache.

As he is surrounded by a group of locals, Mr. Bean leaves the man mystified as he appears to pull out a chocolate bar and chomp down on it. He then shows off his martial arts skills, knocking the man flying with a kung-fu kick.

Atkinson also garnered attention as he touched down in the country — with fans flocking to get a snap of the 59-year-old as he made his way through the airport.

The character being used to sell products comes just weeks after a survey found that Mr. Bean was one of the most instantly recognizable Britons.(SD-Agencies)
