    Three prisoners, including a death row inmate, killed a guard, donned police uniforms and escaped in a rare jailbreak in northeastern China early Tuesday.

    Police in Heilongjiang Province offered a 100,000 yuan (US$16,000) cash reward to anyone who provides tips leading to the capture of an escapee.

    Armed police searched for the fugitives, following the breakout from a Yanshou County jail outside the city of Harbin, the provincial capital, at about 6 a.m. Tuesday.
