‘Prison Break’ stars to reunite in ‘The Flash’
     2014-September-5  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

DOMINIC PURCELL and Wentworth Miller will reunite in new CW series “The Flash.”

Purcell will portray villain Mick Rory, aka Heat Wave, with Miller as Leonard Snart, aka Captain Cold. The actors previously starred as brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield in four seasons of the Fox drama “Prison Break.” It’s the first time the actors have appeared onscreen together since the prison drama concluded in 2009.

In the DC comics, Rory is a pyromaniac who uses his obsession with fire to become the villain Heat Wave. The character joins Captain Cold’s team of villains, the Rogues, and helps him battle superhero Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), aka the Flash. Miller will first appear as Snart in Episode 4, and Purcell will debut as Rory in Episode 10. “The Flash” premieres Oct. 7 on The CW.

In DC Comics lore, Heat Wave is a member of the Rogues, led by Captain Cold. Heat Wave has been featured in animated form on shows such as “Justice League Unlimited” and “Batman: The Brave and the Bold.” Miller and Purcell aren’t even the first actors from the popular “Prison Break” show to appear in “The Flash.” Robert Knepper, who played the convict T-Bag in “Prison Break,” will soon play a bad guy named The Clock King on “The Flash.” He played the same character in “Arrow” and Peter Stormare, who played John Abruzzi in “Prison Break,” is set to play Count Vertigo in a Season 3 episode of “Arrow.”
