‘Frozen’ characters to return in Disney short film
     2014-September-5  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ROYAL siblings Anna and Elsa will be at the center of an upcoming animated spinoff short next spring.

“Frozen Fever” will feature the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad and other cast members from the 2013 blockbuster.

In the original film, Anna teamed up with Kristoff and snowman Olaf in a race to find Anna’s sister Elsa, whose icy powers trapped the kingdom in eternal winter. The new short film takes place on Anna’s birthday, and Elsa and Kristoff are “determined to give her the best celebration ever. But Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk,” said Disney.

The upcoming short will also include new music from Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez — the husband-and-wife songwriting team that won a best original song Oscar for the “Frozen” track “Let It Go.”

The film will be directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and produced by Peter Del Vecho, all three of them reprising their roles from the original “Frozen” feature.

Since it opened last November, “Frozen” has taken in an impressive US$1.27 billion at the global box office. The family flick, which was crowned best animated film at this year’s Oscars, currently ranks as Disney’s highest-grossing animated feature of all time.(SD-Agencies)
