待命假期

    On call是“随时待命”，on-calliday是什么意思呢？请看对话：

    B: But I want to unplug and recharge during the holiday.

    A: How about this? The company will compensate you with an extra week’s salary for staying on call.

    Note: On-calliday is the combination of “on call” and “holiday.” It is when one has time off from their work duties, but is required to be accessible (as by mobile phone or laptop) to address urgent issues. Eggnog, a sweetened dairy-based beverage traditionally made with milk and/or cream, sugar, and whipped eggs, is traditionally consumed throughout Canada and the United States around Christmas. Sweet spirits such as brandy, rum or bourbon are often added.
