AVRIL LAVIGNE and Chad Kroeger’s marriage is rumored to be on the rocks just weeks after the Nickelback rocker gave his wife a massive ring to mark their first anniversary.

    “He has been going around L.A. telling people that they are divorcing,” a source told Us Weekly.

    A Lavigne friend reportedly told the magazine, “Chad is just a complete jerk in the way he talks to her, and the way he talks to people in general. A lot of her friends don’t like him.”

    However, an E! News source wasn’t quite as certain. “I don’t know what’s going to happen,” the source said. “She really wants to have a baby. She was hoping, after this album, to take time off and start a family.”

    Even though they’re “fighting a lot” and “having a lot of issues,” divorce would be an option of last resort, according to the E! source.

    Kroeger, 39, and the “Hello Kitty” rocker, 29, dated for a month before getting engaged in August 2012. They got married July 1, 2013, in a Gothic-themed wedding held in a medieval castle in France.

    On July 31 of this year, Lavigne gushed in a tweet, “I still can’t believe my 1 year anniversary gift. 17 carat emerald cut. Wow. I love my hubby.” A picture of the sparkler accompanied the tweet, which was deleted shortly after it went up. On Aug. 30, Lavigne wasn’t wearing her wedding ring as she left the Chateau Marmont with gal pals.

    Last November, Lavigne boasted how they never go “more than two weeks without seeing each other.”

    “And we don’t drink when we’re apart,” Kroeger added to People magazine. “We don’t want to go anywhere that you’re asking for trouble. This is something we want to cherish and protect.”

    If the couple were to split, it would be her second divorce. Lavigne and musician Deryck Whibley broke up in October 2009 after a little more than three years of marriage.(SD-Agencies)
