ZHANG BICHEN won the third season of the popular TV talent show “The Voice of China” on Tuesday.
The other two finalists, Pa’erhati from Xinjiang and Yu Feng, placed second and third respectively.
Born in 1989 in Tianjin, Zhang went to study in South Korea in 2009. She has attracted wide attention since the beginning of the season because of her earlier role as a member of South Korean girl band, Sunny Days.
On “The Voice of China,” she became a protégé of well-known singer Na Ying. “I was very surprised when the results were announced. I thought the winner should be Pa’erhati. His interpretation of ‘Why the Flower Was That Red’ was very impressive,” Na said.
Zhang’s last song for the final round was “Where Does the Time Go.” Eventually, Zhang earned 118.8 points from the judges and audience votes, while Pa’erhati earned 82.2 points.
Apart from the top three winners, the final also revealed the four “Songs of the Year,” which included “Lake Baikal,” “Say You Love Me,” “Refuse to Play Again” and “Half Moon Serenade.”
