CHINESE actress Huang Yi announced her divorce from ex-husband Huang Yiqing on her Sina Weibo on Saturday, which many regarded as another publicity stunt by the couple after they signed papers in July.

    Huang wrote, “To all my friends, on Oct. 10, 2014, I officially divorced from Mr. Huang Yiqing through court mediation. I feel sorry for bringing confusion and negative influences to the public. In the meantime, I feel grateful for the care and encouragement from my parents, relatives, friends, fans and my lawyer. Thanks for the support and company.

    “Only we can know the happiness or disappointment in our marriage. The hurt will eventually pass, and the experience will make people mature. I will devote my life to my daughter and grow with her. She is my future and hope and the source of my courage.”

    Her post was regarded as the end of a months-long divorce saga.

    Earlier Saturday, Huang Yiqing wrote, “feeling released” on his own Weibo.

    Huang Yi said in July that she had won custody of her 2-year-old daughter.

    In June, Huang Yiqing, a Shanghai-based businessman, was accused of physically abusing his wife and of being involved in an extramarital affair with the wife of a friend. A month later, Huang Yi was spotted meeting with coal tycoon, He Rong, at a hotel.

    Huang Yi married her second husband Huang Yiqing in late 2012.(Tan Yifan)
