DUTCH company NXP Semiconductors, the global market leader in semiconductor chips, LED lighting and smart control, will unveil its latest smart lighting solutions at the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair this week.

The company will introduce high-performance LED lighting solutions with one chipset that applies to all markets of lighting regulations and manufacturers can easily customize their lighting applications to their desired specification, resulting in an extremely short time to market, said Ryan Zahn, general manager of NXP Semiconductors’ lighting solutions product line, at a press conference in the company’s Shenzhen office Friday.

Zahn added that the solutions are designed to be low cost and are equipped with a control input signal for applications such as remote-controlled luminaires and smart lamps.

The potential energy and cost savings have mobilized a growing industry in lighting, connectivity and building automation to enable and support wirelessly controlled intelligent lighting. According to a report by Companies & Markets, the global smart lighting market was forecast to grow at a compound average growth rate of 36.4 percent over the 2013-2018 period.
