ACTOR Christopher Lee won the best actor award at Taiwan’s 49th Golden Bell Awards ceremony, which was held in Taipei’s Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall on Saturday evening.
Lee won the award for his turn as a successful career man whose marriage is on the rocks in the drama “A Good Wife.”
In a statement released by his management agency, he thanked his wife Fann Wong for her support and expressed his love for her and their two-and-a-half-month-old son, stating that this was his first award outside Singapore.
Singaporean artistes including Zheng Geping, Rayson Tan, Chris Tong, Ian Fang, Pornsak, Patricia Mok and Zhang Zhenhuan, took to social media to congratulate Lee.
Actress Hsin-ling Chung won the best actress award for her role in the TV drama “Sun After the Rain.”
The Golden Bell Awards is an annual Taiwanese television production award presented by Taiwan’s Government Information Office in October or November each year.
It is one of the three major annual awards presented in Taiwan, along with the Golden Melody Awards for music and the Golden Horse Awards for movies.
