Meaning:
“憋” means to “suppress” or “hold,” “大”
means “big,” and “招” means “moves” or “tactics.” Originally used by World of Warcraft game players, “大招” refers to some risky and speculative stragery seldom used by other players. The term is a metaphor often used by game players or Internet industry insiders to mean “keeping some bold new moves in secrecy,” not necessarily speculative. It can also refer to “planning something bold and new.”
Example:
Xiǎomǐ fù zǒngcái líwànqiáng biǎoshì jiāng chóng huí chǎnpǐn yánfā yīxiàn, jiāng dào guīgǔ bìguān yīduàn shíjiān。
Xiaomi Inc. vice president Li Wanqiang said he will return to the R&D frontier and spend some time alone in Silicon Valley.
Tā zhèshì yào biēdàzhāo a。
It seems he is planning something bold and new.
Sure he is. We can expect new products from Xiaomi soon. He said he can have more access to technology in Silicon Valley.
