     2014-November-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

RENOWNED Chinese actor Sun Feihu passed away at the age of 73 in the western Chinese city of Xi’an.

Sun rose to fame in 1981 when he played Chiang Kai-shek in the celebrated film “Xi’an Shibian” (“Xi’an Incident”), about the turning point in China’s anti-Japanese war during the late 1930s.

The role earned Sun the best supporting actor prize at the second Golden Rooster Awards and Hundred Flowers Film Festival. Sun continued acting until 2011.

The actor’s funeral is reportedly to take place Wednesday.(SD-Agencies)
