TRAFFIC controls will start at 7 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. Sunday for the city’s marathon. Residents are encouraged to use Metro service when possible and drivers are advised to use Beihuan, Binhe and Binhai boulevards and Nanping Expressway, which run parallel to Shennan Boulevard.

Police will impose and lift controls gradually, section by section, according to the progress of the 42-km race.

    Control areas include:

    1. From 12 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Civic Center area, encompassed by Jintian Road, Yitian Road, Shennan Boulevard and Fuzhong Road, and the westward of Shennan Boulevard between Huanggang Flyover and Xinzhou Road.

    2. From 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., the eastward part of Shennan Boulevard between Shahe Flyover and International Mayor’s Exchange Center.

Police also will control traffic on roads linking with Shennan Road and Shennan Boulevard.

Residents with emergencies along the route can call 110 or 8333-3333.
