THEY met and fell in love on the set of 2008’s hit movie, “Slumdog Millionaire.” But it has now been reported that Freida Pinto and Dev Patel have called time out on their relationship.

    According to Us Weekly, the actors split some time ago after around six years together.

    A source said: “Dev and Freida have broken up. They have been done for a while.” Another insider added that the 30-year-old actress is enjoying herself since the breakup and hinted that she’s happily going on other dates.

    “Freida is single and happy,” the second source said of the newly single actress. They added: “Friends are setting her up.”

    Patel, who at 24 is six years younger than his stunning ex, rose to international fame after appearing in Danny Boyle’s Oscar-winning movie.

    And his budding romance with Pinto only helped to raise his profile over the years, but the two hadn’t been seen together for quite some time. The British actor was noticeably absent at her 30th birthday celebrations in October, and in an interview earlier this year, she remained tight-lipped about her romance with the star.

    In an interview for the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, the Indian beauty was forthcoming about many things, but managed to remain coy about her boyfriend, simply saying that she has become adept at protecting herself in the public eye.

    However, in previous chats, the two had dubbed each other “soul mates.”

    As Pinto celebrated her big birthday in October, she was seen looking slightly worse for wear after having let her hair down while with friends in Los Angeles. She was practically giddy with joy as she kicked her leg up high and danced against a parking meter after leaving her shindig.(SD-Agencies)
