LING JIHUA, a senior Party official and national political adviser, is now under investigation for “suspected serious disciplinary violation.”
The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection announced the investigation in a brief statement yesterday.
Ling, born in 1956 and a native of Shanxi Province, is vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference National Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Earlier, Ling Zhengce, vice chairman of Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and a brother of Ling Jihua, was removed from his post for suspected serious discipline violations in July.
Another brother of Ling Jihua, Ling Wancheng, a businessman who had reportedly invested in seven companies before they launched their IPOs, was implicated in a corruption case, the Caixin magazine reported earlier.
State media reported Ling Wancheng was placed under investigation in October, four months after a corruption probe was announced into Ling Zhengce.(SD-Xinhua)
