   萌萌哒

    méngméngda

Meaning: "萌" is a popular character used by Chinese netizens that means "cute," and "哒" originally comes from an online term "么么哒" that simulates the sound of kissing. Therefore, this term simply means "very cute." It's often used to describe oneself in the sentence "感觉自己萌萌哒." In actual use, people say it when they have done something special and feel themselves unusual at that moment. According to an online forum, the first user of this term is a game player who wanted to protest against Kingsoft Games by swollowing a hamster live on the Internet. He didn't swollow the hamster in the end, but his pet phrase "感觉自己萌萌哒" became popular.

    Example

    A: 你今天怎么样?

    Nǐ jīntiān zěnmeyàng?

    How is your day?

    B: 骑车路过动物园时,对着笼子里的老虎大吼的一声,结果被很多人侧目,顿时感觉自己萌萌哒。

Qíchē lùguò dòngwùyuán shí, duì zhe lóngzi lǐ de lǎohǔ dàhǒu yīshēng, jiéguǒ bèi hěnduō rén cèmù, dùnshí gǎnjué zìjǐ méngméngda。

I shouted out loud at the tiger in a cage while I rode a bicycle past the zoo today, drawing a lot of angry gazes. I felt myself super cool.
