‘Happy’ is Billboard’s top song of the year
     2015-January-1  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AMERICAN singer-songwriter Pharell’s song “Happy” has topped Billboard’s top 10 songs of the year.

The song written for the “Despicable Me 2” soundtrack stayed a total of 47 weeks on the hot 100 charts.

It has already earned the artist an academy award nomination.

Before the summer, Pharell was known more as a sideman and producer for other artists such as Robin Thicke.

The end of year top 10 is measured by the single’s performance throughout the year in the United States.

Other tracks on the list include One Republic’s “Counting Stars” and Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.”(SD-Agencies)
